The law on amnesty is signed

The law № 287-3 “About amnesty of some categories of the persons who have committed crimes” is signed. The law comes into force from the date of its publication.
On October, 24th the given bill has been approved by the House of Representatives, on November, 16th it was supported by members of Council of Republic.

As a result of amnesty about 1, 7 thousand persons will be released from correctional facilities of the closed type and nearby 850 persons from correctional facilities of open type.

Minor, pregnant women, women and the lonely men having minor children, pensioners, the invalids, sick of a tuberculosis, a HIV-infected, veterans of operations, participants of liquidation of consequences of accident on Chernobyl nuclear power plant, the persons who have got wounds at discharge of duties in service without dependence from term of left punishment are subject to clearing.

Amnesty will concern those from them who has left not less than third of appointed term of punishment. Thus the maximum term of imprisonment should not exceed six years.

Under amnesty do not get the persons breaking an order during serving of punishment who have been earlier released on amnesty or again committed a crime, and also the prisoners which criminal cases are at a preliminary investigation stage.
